Family Photos 2017

November 7, 2017

This weekend we took some updated family photos and I thought I would share a few of my fave’s.

I have a friend who has the same camera and love of photography as me, so we decided to go on a little adventure together, take our families’ individual photos, and each other’s group shots. We were so good on time, that we were able to stop at a couple of different places on our way there, and those ended up being my favorite pictures!

We stopped at the scenic point of the Columbia River Gorge… every time I drive past this I think to myself how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful part of the world.
By the time we got to the final spot, my one year old was done! I didn’t get a great shot with the kiddos– if I attempted to reposition there would have been melt-downs, so I just went with it:

I was looking for the “picture perfect” shots to edit and hang on my wall when I came across this one: Eden had pulled her headband off, she had crazy hair all in her face and eyes, a grumpy expression on her face… and I just fell in love with it, because this is how she looks every day! I also just love how the light hits her. When I find a shot like this, I have to black-and-white it: And brother and sister to match!

It was NOT easy taking these… my husband wanted to keep his creepy mustache, my son wanted to run around and play, my big girl kept complaining about how cold it was– and it really was! And my one year old just discovered how to throw tantrums! BUT I am so glad we have some beautiful, up to date family pictures and some fun, happy memories of our adventures to go with them.

We woke up the next day with three inches of snow on the ground, so I feel like we got these in on the last day of Autumn, and were lucky!
